R15 S is the first generation V1 bike with few tweaks. After the less sales in number for there r15 version 2 they realized that Indians needs version 1 bike. YAMAHA INDIA MOTOR LIMITED relaunched version 1 in the name of R15 S(Stands for styling - r15v1 with style upgrades).With new colour options and fat tires finally r15 S launched alongside with version 2.R15 version one got criticized by many due to its slim tires .Yamaha Motor India addressed these issues and re-launched the version 1 as R15S with fatter ties .Cost cutting products borrowed from version 2.On whole bike as package looks great.
PERFORMANCE& COMFORT:
R15 S gets the best performance and confidence due to the Fatter tires. Technologies remains same as per version 1. R15S loaded with LC4V SOHC FI engine,6 speed gear box, Clip on handle bar, full fairing, dual disc brakes .All these technology made R15 perform better on Indian Roads These updates given crown as Best performance bike in 150cc to 200cc class segment. It can reach up to top speed -133/135Km/hr as its top speed. Yamaha tuned these bikes to give top end performance ,even at the top speed there is no /minimal vibrations in bike. I can cruise comfortably on 100 km/Hr all day.
SAFETY:
- Brake caliber and brake pads are made by Nissin it’s number one in it’s segment .downside of. Brake are sometimes wheel lock will happen
- Once you adjusted with the brakes then it’s the most controllable & comfortable bike in this segment.
- Both front and back are Hydraulic disc brakes .
MAINTENENCE:
- Compared to other competitors(Fully faired segment) it’s pretty cheap .
- But don’t mess with electrical connection if anything goes wrong you are in trouble
- Plastic part price will be low
- Engine oil cheap ( 350 to 1800 based on your preference)
- Front disc plate (Nissin original-900 Rupees )
- Rear disc plate (Nissin Original - 1100 Rupees)
- Fairing (500 to 1500)
CONCLUSION/VERDICT:
Yamaha YZF R15S IS R15V1 WITH SOME UPDATES.RECOMMENDED FOR ALL.
Recommended for ENTRY to PRO level riders, from STREET to TRACK.
